What is Executive Functioning (EF)?

Just as an airport tower manages multiple planes landing and taking off on different runways, our brains have a set of mental skills that help us manage our functioning in the world. Executive Functioning (EF) is like the brain’s air traffic control system, the set of skills that helps you plan, prioritize, manage time use, pursue goals, regulate emotions, and adapt to life changes. When responsibilities pile up, or you’re navigating transitions, these skills can feel stretched, leaving highly capable people feeling overwhelmed or off balance.

Here’s a summary of key Executive Functioning Domains (a selection will be covered in the workshop):

What is the MIND diet?

The MIND diet (Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay) is designed to support brain health highlights ten brain-supportive food groups containing essential nutrients, all shown to:

  • Help Reduce Inflammation
  • Combat oxidative stress
  • Support communication between brain cells

Incorporating these foods consistently can offer both immediate energy and long-term neurological benefits.
