Dr. Helen L. Coons, PhD, ABPP
President and Clinical Director
Women’s Mental Health Associates
Helen L. Coons, PhD, ABPP, is a board-certified clinical health psychologist and
national leader in women’s mental and physical health. Based in Denver, she is
President and Clinical Director of Women’s Mental Health Associates and Health
Psychology Solutions. Dr. Coons specializes in supporting women navigating
perimenopause and menopause, early and advanced breast and gyn cancers, infertility,
pregnancy complications and loss, sexual health concerns, trauma, and complex life
transitions. Her integrative, trauma-informed approach emphasizes resilience, wellness,
and quality of life for women and couples across all life stages.
Previously a Professor of Clinical Practice, Department of Psychiatry, University of
Colorado School of Medicine, and the inaugural Clinical Director of the Women’s
Behavioral Health and Wellness Program, Dr. Coons developed programs in women’s
behavioral health and sexual health. She has over three decades of experience in
women’s health psychology. A sought-after national speaker and advocate, Dr. Coons
co-chairs the American Psychological Association’s 2025 Presidential Initiative on
Midlife and Menopause Health and Wellness and is dedicated to advancing awareness,
clinical services, and policies that improve the mental health and well-being of women
and families across communities.

Dr. Sarah Rabice, MD
Urogynecology

Sarah Rabice, MD, is a board-certified physician with fellowship-training in
urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery. Dr. Rabice’s clinical interests include
vaginal prolapse, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic floor disorders.
Dr. Rabice earned her medical degree from State University of New York (SUNY)
Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY and completed a residency in Obstetrics
and Gynecology at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, CO. She furthered her training with
a fellowship in urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery at the University of Iowa
Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.
Her expertise includes a wide range of surgical and minimally invasive procedures, such
as vaginal hysterectomy, sacrospinous suspension, sacrocolpopexy, uterosacral
ligament suspension, midurethral slings, sacral neuromodulation, urethral bulking,
PTNS (percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation), bladder Botox, cystoscopy, and other
advanced techniques.
Dr. Rabice is passionate about helping women feel heard, supported, and empowered
in their healthcare journey. She emphasizes collaboration, education, and a
multidisciplinary approach to ensure every patient receives the most effective and
personalized care possible.

Dr. Stephanie M. Owens, MD
OBGYN

Dr. Stephanie Owens is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist who has been a
practicing OB/GYN hospitalist at Rose Medical Center for the past four years. Prior, she
served in private practice for six years at a HealthONE OB/GYN office in Denver. She
also currently serves as a clinical instructor at University of Colorado Health Sciences,
Department of OB/GYN and as a physician for Planned Parenthood of the Rocky
Mountains.
Dr. Owens completed a four-year residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the
University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Medical Education Program, Magee-Women’s
Hospital. During her senior year of residency, she was elected by fellow residents,
faculty and administrators as a Chief Resident. She has won numerous awards,
including the 2015 Rose Resident Teaching Award. During her time in Pittsburgh, she
won the Best Young Investigator from the Infectious Disease Society for Obstetrics and
Gynecology (IDSOG) and Best First Year Resident Teacher.
Outside of work, Dr. Owens enjoys skiing, traveling, reading, exercising, and spending
time with family and friends.
