Megan Vered

When she was 64, Megan Vered obtained her MFA in Creative Writing, fulfilling a dream she’d had since her 20s. Her essays and interviews have been published in HuffPost, Shondaland, The Rumpus, the Los Angeles Review of Books, and the Writer’s Chronicle, among others. Her recent HuffPost article, “I Wasn’t Sure How To Celebrate Turning 70. Then I Sent An Email That Changed My Entire Year,” received over one million views and generated hundreds of messages. Megan lives in Marin County, where she leads local and international writing workshops and heads the governance committee for Heyday Books. When she isn’t deep in thought at her desk, she is spinning on the dance floor, kayaking with her husband, or walking her Westie.
