Be Present
So many of our conversations these days are via text or email. So, while it may sound strange, it’s actually starting to feel old-fashioned to look people in the eye and be present with them.
And yet, that’s what we should do if we want to connect. “Truly listening and paying attention to what people are saying is easily undervalued. In today’s oh-so-busy society, we don’t take the time to do this simple thing,” says author and coach Kelly Robbins. “Listen. Look people in the eye and care. Get to know your neighbors, their kids’ names, and what’s going on in their lives.”
You’ll feel closer to those you care about and have better relationships as a result.
